Initiated by the architects duo Kaiser&Wittwer, the project was developed for a new retirement home with all its inherent restrictions.
The commission was to design a series of modular lamps that diffuses lights in the central space of the building, like luminescent clouds.
The construction of the lamps is made by the utilisation of standard fluorescent lights, standard pieces and standard elements. Its construction is based on a tunnel typology built like a tent you can add on as many section as wanted in the chosen direction and size. One central rail and the extremity part are the only « designed » pieces.
The creasing of the material, fire resistant tyvek, on the hoops, give the volume to the lamp as well as its light diffusion ability.
